badge.ly is a digital credentials platform that enables organizations to create, issue, and manage Open Badges compliant digital credentials. The Service includes badge creation tools, recipient management, and verification services.
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Providing accurate and complete information
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Issue fraudulent or misleading credentials
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
5. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by badge.ly and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
6. Badge Ownership
Organizations retain ownership of the badges they create. Recipients own their earned credentials and may share them as they see fit. badge.ly does not claim ownership over user-generated content.
7. Payment Terms
Certain features of the Service require payment. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to pay all applicable fees. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as explicitly stated in our refund policy.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Issued badges remain valid and verifiable even after account termination.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, badge.ly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
